Hawaii Revised Statutes Charter 179 Flood Control and Flood Water Conservation

  • Authorizes the Statewide General Flood Control Plan (SGFCP) Website to serve as a guide for linking partnering agencies and community groups, as well as providing data and tools required to strategize flood improvement needs and goals.

SGFCP Goals

  • Strengthen the partnerships between government agencies, strategic partners, and the public in relation to flood-related natural disasters, in order to reduce risks to the people of Hawaii and damage to its manmade and natural resources.
  • Provide partners with the ability to view and analyze flood prone areas and flood mitigation needs.

The SGFCP Website is developed and maintained by the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources(HI-DLNR), Engineering Division.
